Spring has finally arrived!!!!
At least at the Krempl house. This painting is the third in a series of works by the Krempl family. We began with the snowman family last year...then in the summer, we did the octopus (octopi) family....not as cute as the snowman family, but still a worthy attempt. This year (2006), we aspire to create Spring and Fall. We are 50% accomplished in our goal with the completion of the hand trees.
Here is something that I learned in all of this painting...the adults are not nearly as good of subjects as the children, first of all, because big hands and feet just aren't as cute and secondly, because as you go from child to adult, your arch gets higher, as does the center of your palm. Be warned about this, and if you decide to do something similar, maybe press the canvas from the back to meet the center of your extremity.
Anyway, enjoy the process and the final result.:-)
The first step...painting the background.

And I thought the center of the adult palms was a heart! I should have waited for the narration.
